The relaxed and calm atmosphere of West Sussex makes it an ideal walking county, with new scenic views around every corner. The picturesque town of Petworth oozes history as it wraps around the renowned grand estate of Petworth House and Gardens. With so many walking tours available you are able to take in the beautiful surroundings of the market town, try delicious baked goods from the family owned bakeries and shop at one of the many antiques shops before wandering around the scenic Petworth Park to spot deers.

If you are looking for a picturesque walk with breathtaking views of the British countryside, then the South Downs Way should be on your list. This 100-mile trail which stretches from Winchester to Eastbourne is truly remarkable and gives you countless opportunities to explore. Whether you opt for a shorter amble or wish to tackle a longer hike, there is a trail to suit all abilities. Stop off on route at one of the many charming towns and villages for a delicious lunch before heading back off on your adventure.
