Discover the historic market town of Petworth during your stay with us here at The Badgers. With a beautiful estate, 700-acre deer park, a selection of independent retailers and fascinating historic buildings, you’ll fall in love with this charming town.

Petworth House

Inspired by the Baroque palaces of Europe, Petworth House is under the care of the National Trust. This impressive mansion is situated at the top of the town, its walls surrounding the high-street. With it’s imposing design and magnificent staterooms, this house was designed to demonstrate wealth, taste and artistic patronage. Visitors can pay for entry into the property itself, viewing a selection of rooms in the house which hold onto their historic roots. From the Marble Hall to the Historic Kitchens, you’ll be in awe of the luxurious rooms within the property and the memories they hold.

Petworth Park

Petworth Park is an enormous 700-acre park, perfect for walking all year round. This is one of the finest surviving, unspoilt examples of an English landscape designed by Lancelot Brown. Many influential figures have wandered through this park, so why not follow in their footsteps and sweep away the cobwebs on one of these incredible walking trails. Escape the everyday, stop and admire the view and look for the many deer on-site as you take in the fresh air in this wonderful place.

Petworth Cottage Museum

The Museum is a Leconfield Estate workers cottage restored and furnished as it might have been in 1910, when Mrs Mary Cummings lived in 346.
