Goodwood House was built in 1616 by the 9th Earl of Northumberland, although there is evidence that a house had existed on the property as early as 1570. The architecture of the property has been adapted and extended on various occasions throughout the years, but its distinguishing feature has never changed – the distinctive copper turrets.
The house these days combines the glamour of a great English country house with the warmth of a family home and it acts as a dramatic setting for some of the most inspiring events throughout the year. Visitors are also able to visit the house and receive a tour of particular sections which are open to guests. Afternoon tea is also available, a splendid treat for anybody looking for a taste of traditional English life.
