COWDRAY

Cowdray Estate

Cowdray prides itself on offering a variety of premium country pursuits to visitors, from fly fishing on the River Rother to walking, cycling, horse riding, polo matches, and even golf on their Championship course.

COWDRAY

Cowdray House & Gardens

Cowdray House is a historic country home nestled in the rolling hills of the South Downs, part of an incredible 16,500-acre estate. With beautifully landscaped gardens, a stunning lake and wondrous woodlands, there is plenty to explore.

These days, the house is frequently used as a wedding venue, with rooms available sleeping up to 44 guests.

COWDRAY

Cowdray Ruins

The magnificent Cowdray Ruins are from one of the most important early Tudor houses, known to have been visited by both King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. In 1793, a devastating fire took hold and most of the property was sadly destroyed. The Kitchen Tower is the only part of the mansion which has remained intact. Visitors may look at the ruins and see the tell-tale traces of Tudor life which remain there on their visit to the estate.

COWDRAY

Cowdray Polo

Cowdray Park Polo Club is one of the most famous in the UK. Competitive polo has been played on the estate since 1910 and has become the heart of the Estate, with teams from all around the world flocking to Cowdray to participate. The Gold Cup is one of the most prestigious events in the British calendar and attracts the largest single polo audience in the UK.

Visitors are welcome to spectate these matches, or can even book polo lessons to learn a thing or two about how to play themselves.

COWDRAY

Cowdray Golf

Cowdray Golf Course is arguably one of the most beautiful golf courses in the UK, with fantastic views across the South Downs from its scenic position. If you are a keen golfer, you simply won’t want to miss the opportunity to visit these breathtaking views and manicured greens. With a clubhouse accommodating for up to 80 guests, there’s room for everyone to enjoy a game of golf at Cowdray.
