Our beautiful pub is set in the heart of the Sussex countryside
Here at The Badgers we will never take for granted the spectacular setting we find ourselves in. Nestled in the heart of the Sussex countryside, surrounded by the awe-inspiring South Downs National Park, we are fortunate enough to have plenty of local amenities suitable for visitors of all ages and interests.
We have compiled some information on the pages found below to inspire our guests and offer suggestions for where to go and what to see when staying with us here at The Badgers.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Petworth
This stunning market town is home to an incredible 700-acre deer park, which is just a five-minute drive from our pub. Not only does the estate feature this wonderful park, but it also boasts an incredible 17th-century mansion where guests are welcome to explore the grounds and even see inside several of the rooms on display. Goodwood
Just a fifteen minutes drive away, the Goodwood estate hosts a number of annual events including, The Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood and The Motor Sports Revival. There is an airfield where pleasure flights and historic aviation displays can be seen. It also boasts a superior golf course and Goodwood House has numerous Antique roadshows. The historic market town of Midhurst is just a fifteen-minute drive away and is set right in the heart of the South Downs National Park itself. The South Downs National Park is the newest official National Park in the United Kingdom and it’s a wonder that it took until 2010 for this outstanding area of natural beauty to receive its official title. Clay Pigeon Shooting is a popular, well-loved country pursuit. We are fortunate enough to have some impressive shoot locations nearby, including the ever-popular Duncton Quarry.
