We pride ourselves on being one of the best pubs in the South Downs, offering exquisite cuisine to suit everybody’s dietary needs. Our chefs work closely with local suppliers and strive to produce high-quality meals to each of our guests, from our varied, extensive menu.

Locally sourced ingredients from Sussex farmers
We pride ourselves on using local produce wherever possible and our menus regularly change to incorporate seasonal availability throughout the year. One of our specialities is fresh fish from the local South coast markets and during the summer this includes lobsters and crab, which remain firm favourites among our customers. Throughout the colder winter months we focus on offering locally sourced game such as pheasant, partridge, pigeon and venison.
Each of these meals is lovingly prepared by our experienced chefs and brothers, Matthew and Adrian Diaper, who have extensive local knowledge and a passion for creating great dishes from excellent ingredients.
